Teacup Puppy Care Guide

Teacup puppies need gentle, consistent care because their small size makes them more sensitive to missed meals, cold temperatures, stress, and accidental injuries. With the right routine, nutrition, grooming, and plenty of love, your puppy can get a confident and comfortable start in its new home.

🥣 Feeding & Nutrition

Feed your puppy a high-quality puppy food appropriate for its breed and size. Very small puppies may need several small meals throughout the day rather than one or two large meals. Keep fresh water available at all times. Avoid sudden food changes, table scraps, and foods that are unsafe for dogs. Your veterinarian can recommend the appropriate food and feeding schedule based on your puppy’s age, size, and individual needs.

🧼 Grooming & Hygiene

Regular grooming keeps your puppy clean, comfortable, and healthy. Brush the coat gently and regularly, especially for breeds such as Yorkies, Maltipoos, Poodles, Shih Tzus, and Bichons. Check the ears, eyes, paws, and nails regularly. Introduce grooming gradually so your puppy learns to associate it with a positive experience.

🏡 Daily Routine

Young puppies benefit from a predictable routine. Establish regular times for meals, potty breaks, play, training, naps, and bedtime. Puppies need plenty of sleep, so provide a quiet, comfortable place where your puppy can rest without being disturbed.

❤️ Safety & Comfort

Because teacup-sized puppies are very small, handle them carefully and supervise them around children and larger pets. Keep them away from stairs, high furniture, swimming pools, and other situations where a fall or accident could occur. Provide a warm, comfortable sleeping area and avoid exposing your puppy to extreme temperatures.

🐾 Training & Socialization

Start with simple, positive training as soon as your puppy settles in. Teach basic commands, establish a potty routine, and reward good behavior with praise or appropriate treats. Gentle, age-appropriate socialization can help your puppy become confident around people, sounds, environments, and other animals.

🩺 Veterinary Care

Schedule a veterinary appointment after bringing your puppy home. Keep vaccinations, parasite prevention, and other recommended care up to date according to your veterinarian’s advice. Because very small puppies can become unwell quickly, contact a veterinarian promptly if your puppy shows unusual weakness, refuses food, has repeated vomiting or diarrhea, has difficulty breathing, or behaves unusually.

🌟 A Confident Start

Give your new companion time to adjust to its surroundings. Keep the first few days calm, provide plenty of affection, and introduce new experiences gradually. With good nutrition, a consistent routine, gentle handling, proper grooming, training, and regular veterinary care, your TeacupsPups companion can begin life in its new home feeling safe, loved, and confident.

Important: Every puppy is different. Feeding amounts, exercise, grooming, and healthcare needs should be tailored to the puppy’s breed, age, size, and individual condition with guidance from a qualified veterinarian.
